Our standard Swell boxes and Swell fronts are made of solid wood frames with mortise and tenon joints with panels in 1 ½” Baltic Birch plywood.
Our standard shutters are made from 2” Basswood. The lumber is cut into strips, rotated 90 degrees and laminated. This makes for a strong, stable and light shutter with excellent dampening abilities. The shutters have sealed ball bearings on one end and stainless steel pins on the other.
Bearings and pins are mounted in a split Hard Maple block for ease of installation and maintenance. All blocks and trace rods are machined precisely on the CNC router and the whole assembly is installed very easy and quick.
